In this symposium, GFEI leadership will share insights into the work of the Institute and how it can support your research. Winners of the GFEI Food and Agriculture Awards will also share their research.

Following this discussion, you will have the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions:

A1: An interdisciplinary session bringing together experts to discuss diet and health from a food systems and One Health perspective. The session will feature flash talks on animal health and welfare, antimicrobial resistance from soil to people and the obesity crisis which reflects health inequalities and a need for social justice.

A2: A chance to meet with researchers behind the integrated Future Estimator for Emissions and Diets (iFEED) evidence base designed to help policymakers identify pathways for a climate-smart, food- and nutrition-secure future for sub-Saharan Africa. Participants can expect to learn about the tool and the underlying methodology, with a view to future collaborative working

B1: Visit the University of Leeds Research Farm through the new virtual reality scans of the farm discover the potential opportunities to use the farm in a wide range of research projects and learn the practical processes, costs and steps needed to be taken to include the farm in your future research proposals.

or

B2: An interdisciplinary session bringing together leading experts to discuss the short, medium and long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on agrifood supply chains.
